A new face for CanalRace CIC

In 1993 to mark 200 years of “Canal Mania”, the Grand Union Canal Race had it’s first running. At the same time, Royal Mail issued a presentation pack of stamps celebrating inland waterways.

These stamps, designed by Tony Lewery and fetured in the very first race report, as well as traditional canal art by some of the most influential canal boat painters and artists, such as Phil Speight have served as the inspiration for one of the biggest changes for CanalRace CIC.

We’re proud to reveal a new face for CanalRace CIC, one that celebrates a rich history and heritage, that is respectful of the traditions on which the race is built and the paths that it runs on, and that hopefully reflects the beauty that we see on the British waterways.

With a special thanks to Christopher Allen for bringing this new look to life with care and and character.

We look forward to seeing you on a towpath in the not too distant future!
